Bio

One of the Internet’s most prolific and widely read wrestling opinion columnists, Scott Keith’s debut book, The Buzz on Professional Wrestling, was published in 2001 and continues to delight fans of this so-called sport the world over. Keith first gained national attention in 1999 when he moved to CBS Sportsline to write for its Wrestleline website. His own website, TheSmarks.com, is one of the largest independent wrestling-related sites on the Internet, attracting nearly 5 million pageviews every month.

Project Description

Following up on the successful Buzz on Professional Wrestling comes Tonight...In This Very Ring! (Citadel Press, Fall 2002), a book about the rise and fall of the World Wrestling Federation as viewed through the eyes of a longtime fan. Going beyond the trite dismissals of "It’s all just fake anyway," Keith attempts to examine and explain the reasons behind the madness of Vince McMahon Jr. and his one-ring circus, drawing from his encyclopedia of match reviews and extensive knowledge of the industry. Starting with the birth of the promotion in 1963, proceeding through the golden years of the MTV-influenced Rock N Wrestling era, and leading into the modern era with names like the Rock and Steve Austin leading the way, Tonight...In This Very Ring! pulls no punches and spares no egos while looking at the past, present, and future of the WWF and wrestling in America.
