Bio

Maria Hunt writes about wine and dining trends for the San Diego Union-Tribune as the paper’s restaurant critic and food writer. She earned a journalism degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
Hunt is a Certified Wine Professional from the Culinary Institute of America, Greystone, in the Napa Valley, and has completed several wine education courses there. In 2003 she was selected for the Schramsberg Sparkling Wine Symposium. Hunt is a member of the Association of Food Journalists and a founding member of the San Diego Association of Black Journalists. She’s a monthly food and wine expert guest on KPBS’ These Days, and a regular lifestyle contributor on the NBC 7/39 morning show and with The Food Dude on 103.7 Free FM in the Southern California market.
Hunt teaches sparkling wine and food pairing classes in San Diego and chronicles her adventures in the world of sparkling wine and champagne on her blog, www.all-that-sparkles.blogspot.com, and on her web site, www.thebubblygirl.com.
