Venture Literary Sells Eddie Bravo’s Jiu-Jitsu Instructional to Contemporary/McGraw-Hill

On April 3, 2004, Greg Dinkin, representing world champion jiu-jitsu practitioner Eddie Bravo, sold World rights to Jiu-Jitsu Unleashed: Revolutionary Ground-Fighting Technique to Mark Weinstein at Contemporary Books, a division of McGraw-Hill Books.

In June 2003 at the Abu Dhabi World Championships in Brazil, Eddie Bravo defeated Royler Gracie, the defending champion and the renowned family’s most accomplished practitioner. As the secrets of his fighting style got out, martial artists who had for so long followed "the Gracie way" realized that "Eddie Bravo-jiu-jitsu" was the future of grappling.

"Eddie has become a cult figure in the world of grappling," said Joe Rogan, the host of NBC’s smash hit Fear Factor and Comedy Central’s The Man Show. Rogan, a student of Bravo’s who has agreed to write the foreword, continued: "Because I’m a color commentator for the UFC, I can train jiu-jitsu with anyone in the world. I could train with Royce Gracie, Royler Gracie, Rickson Gracie—but I take private lessons from Eddie Bravo because he is the best. He has it all broken down into a science."

Although hundreds of marital arts academies are trying to book Bravo for seminars, and dozens of magazines want to write articles on his trademark moves, he has decided that the best way to reach the masses is to write Jiu-Jitsu Unleashed: Revolutionary Ground-Fighting Technique, a how-to book that lays out the foundation of his successful jiu-jitsu training methods. Working with Erich Krauss, author of five books, Bravo will share with the reader the secrets to his success. Detailed instruction accompanied by step-by-step photographs will divulge everything from the basic submission holds to the most advanced ground fighting techniques.
