Venture Literary Sells Champagne Recipe and Lifestyle Book to Clarkson Potter/Random House

On April 5, 2007, Jennifer de la Fuente of Venture Literary sold the World rights to an Untitled Book of Champagne Cocktail Recipes by San Diego Union Tribune food and wine critic Maria Hunt to Amy Pierpont at Clarkson Potter/Random House.

Champagne is the signature drink served at sexy lounges all over the world, including Bubble Lounges in San Francisco and New York City; Napoleon’s Lounge in Las Vegas; Pops for Champagne in Chicago; Swanky Bubbles in Philadelphia; and Flute in New York City. And sales in this $2 billion sparkling wine industry have steadily risen from 2003-2006, with no signs of stopping.

Hunt’s book will include cocktail and nibble recipes, color photography, trivia and information about champagne, and lifestyle tips to celebrate the “bubbly” personality in all of us.

Maria Hunt graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and now writes on food and wine for the San Diego Union Tribune. She is a Certified Wine Professional from the Culinary Institute of America and Greystone in the Napa Valley. In 2003 she was selected for the Schramsberg Sparkling Wine Symposium. She is a founding member of the San Diego Association of Black Journalists, and is a frequent guest on KPBS’ These Days and NBC 7/39 in Southern California.
