Venture Literary Sells U.S. Ambassador’s Book on U.S.-European Relations to Rowman & Littlefield

On July 23, 2004, Greg Dinkin sold the World rights to Brave Old World, by U.S. Ambassador to the E.U. Rockwell Schnabel, with Francis X. Rocca, to Christopher Anzalone of Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, Inc.

In Brave Old World: The Rise of Europe and Its Challenge to America, Ambassador Rockwell A. Schnabel, the U.S. envoy to the EU since 2001, lays out the challenges and opportunities that the rise of Europe offers to America, and explains how the U.S. should respond. Drawing on his personal dealings with political and business leaders on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as his lifelong knowledge of Europe, Schnabel gives readers an inside look at the people and issues that will decide whether the world’s most consequential partnership flourishes or flounders.

Schnabel, who served as U.S. ambassador to Finland under President Ronald Reagan, has made featured appearances on The Charlie Rose Show, CNBC, Bloomberg Television, and BBC Radio. He has also written for The Wall Street Journal Europe and The Financial Times. Schnabel’s co-author, Francis X. Rocca, is an experienced political journalist based in Rome, who has written for The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and The Atlantic Monthly, among many other publications, including American Spectator, where he served as managing editor.
