Venture Literary Sells Book of Bluffs to Warner

On July 30, 2004, Greg Dinkin of Venture Literary, representing Card Player columnist Matt Lessinger, sold the North American rights for The Book of Bluffs to Colin Fox of Warner Books.

Is there a sexier word associated with poker than bluffing? Anyone can bet his whole stack holding a royal flush, but only the great ones are able to move all-in holding absolutely nothing. The question is: how do the great ones know when to bluff?

In The Book of Bluffs: 66 Bluffs and Why They Worked, Card Player columnist Matt Lessinger will do for bluffs what Mike Caro did for tells—bring them to the forefront of the poker consciousness. Lessinger is going to devote an entire book to one of the most important facets of the game, which until this point has somehow been overlooked. This book will show players how to get their opponents to fold—when they’re holding the better hand! Lessinger will teach that with the correct timing, experience, and artistry, bluffing will allow you to win while holding inferior cards—the very essence of poker.

In the four years that he has been writing for top poker magazines, Lessinger has not only developed a following as one of the best columnists in poker, but also has carved out a niche as the leading voice on bluffing. He is currently on the panel of experts at www.royalvegaspoker.com and plays there once a week as a bounty in their "Expert Series" of tournaments. He also gives private poker lessons to a select handful of students, and their ensuing poker success has been tremendous.
