Venture Literary Sells Acclaimed Pediatrician’s Guide to the First Year of Parenting

On July 20, 2008, Jennifer De La Fuente of Venture Literary sold North American rights to Eat, Sleep, Poop: Simplifying Your Baby’s First Year Through Common Sense Parenting to Samantha Martin at Scribner.

Arriving home with a newborn can be overwhelming, especially when compounded by the vast amounts of information out there for parents, much of it contradictory. But imagine having a no-nonsense pediatrician at your side, telling you that everything your baby is doing is normal, and also informing you what is not normal and when your concerns are justified. Pediatrician Scott Cohen is providing that service in Eat, Sleep, Poop: Simplifying Your Baby’s First Year Through Common Sense Parenting.

Dr. Cohen’s philosophy arises from the premise that raising your children should be fun, and that we’re overcomplicating things these days. In his Los Angeles–based practice (Beverly Hills Pediatrics), he has developed a philosophy that he teaches his parents called COMMON SENSE PEDIATRICS, and it is this back-to-basics approach that he’ll be espousing in his book.

Dr. Cohen graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine, and completed his pediatric training in 2003 from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, one of the top pediatric training facilities in the country. While at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, he was the recipient of the Victor E. Stork Award for continued excellence and future promise in the care of children, and was awarded Pediatrician of the Year in 2006, as well as the Physician Recognition Award in Pediatrics in 2005 from Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Cohen is currently an attending and active member of the teaching staff of Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He was also selected as one of the Best Doctors in America 2007-2008. Currently, he is the sole pediatric specialist on www.videojug.com, a website that provides educational videos by medical specialists on a variety of topics.
