Venture Literary Sells Book of NASCAR Debates to Wiley

On June 7, 2007, Greg Dinkin of Venture Literary sold the North American rights to Jerry Bonkowski’s book of NASCAR debates to Stephen Power at Wiley.

In NASCAR’s 101 Great Debates: An Expert’s Look at the Most Controversial NASCAR Arguments of All Time, writer/broadcaster Jerry Bonkowski of Yahoo! Sports and Sirius Radio examines the sport with a professional’s insight and a fan’s emotion, weighing in on 101 controversial topics that are sure to get NASCAR fans all revved up. Much like the New York Times bestseller The Mad Dog 100: The Greatest Sports Arguments of All Time by Chris Russo and Allen St. John, Bonkowski examines the most controversial and juicy topics of the largest professional growth sport. The author’s access to the biggest names in NASCAR will allow him to assemble a sampling of “From the Pit” and “Settle the Score” pieces that provide the insights of other experts on specific topics—like Richard Petty on the best race driver ever (the answer might surprise you).

Jerry Bonkowski is an award-winning writer who has covered NASCAR and other motorsports for nearly twenty years. Given his existing platform, he will be able to create buzz with his national NASCAR column on Yahoo! (156 million page views in 2006) and his own three-hour radio show on Sirius, where fans constantly call in to argue all things NASCAR.
