Venture Literary Sells World Rights to Tonight
In This Very Ring to Kensington
On November 23, 2001, Frank Scatoni of Venture Literary sold the world rights to Scott Keiths Tonight
In This Very Ring: A Fans History of Professional Wrestling to Bruce Bender of Kensington Publishing.
In Tonight
In This Very Ring, veteran Internet journalist Scott Keith takes an unprecedented look at the bizarre world of professional wrestling, offering a fans history of the worlds most fascinating "sports entertainment" form: pro wrestling in the World Wrestling Federation. In addition to Keith's insightful historical analysis, he also offers his highly praised match recaps and his interesting wrestler profiles. Unlike the other mainstream wrestling books, which tend to offer a viewpoint based on the politically correct needs of the wrestlers or promoters, Keith's book takes a unique and sometimes controversial slant on the business by showing things from a fans point of view. He has never been afraid to skewer a few egos in order to give his expert opinion.
Keith, the author of The Buzz On Professional Wrestling, is one of the Internets most popular wrestling columnists, and his own Web site, TheSmarks.com, has a legion of fans that rivals the WWFs. TheSmarks.com does more than 1.5 million page-views per month, and many of the WWF wrestlers and personnel have been known to read Keith's rants. In addition to his own ventures, Keith served as a freelance consultant for wrestling superstar Bill Goldbergs best-selling book Im Next, which was published by Crown/Random House in November of last year.
