Venture Literary Negotiates Three-Book Deal on Killer Poker with Kensington

On October 16, 2001, Greg Dinkin of Venture Literary sold the world rights to two books by John Vorhaus (with an option on a third) in a series called Killer Poker to Bruce Bender at Kensington Publishing.

Killer Poker: Strategy and Tactics for Winning Poker Play is the first in a series of how-to books on poker, which gives readers a unique warrior approach toward poker and forces them to completely change the way they think about the game. To achieve this goal, Vorhaus starts by transforming a player’s state of mind, converting him from a passive, reactive poker player into a strong, aggressive, and dominant poker force. What Killer Poker offers that other poker books don't is this: attitude, aggressiveness, and an edge that is sorely lacking in every poker player’s make-up.

Vorhaus is the only writer ever to have written for Card Player, Poker World, Poker Digest, Casino World, and Poker Europa. He’s also published three books: The Pro Poker Playbook, The Comic Toolbox, and Creativity Rules!, and has written for the television shows The Wonder Years, Married...with Children, and The Sentinel. His first feature film, Extreme Close-Up, will be released in 2002, and his next movie, Hole in the World, is in development now.
