Venture Literary Sells How-to Book on Powerful Partners from a Former NBA Wife to St. Martin’s Press

On October 22, 2003, Greg Dinkin of Venture Literary, representing Angela Wilder, sold the North American rights to an untitled self-help book on relationships with powerful partners to Marian Lizzi at St. Martin’s Press.

The book will be a direct, informative, and highly entertaining read about the hidden perils of romantic relationships with powerful partners. Packed with shocking stories about the author’s marital misadventures, it will dispel many of the myths about what it’s like to be in a relationship with a famous and wealthy person–and how every woman can learn from the author’s mistakes and discoveries. Wilder will give pointed, easy-to-follow advice on how those who enter into relationships can enjoy a more balanced, stable, and successful life together.

Angela Wilder is a marriage and family therapist who holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. She also received a Ph.D. through a work-study program–her marriage to a powerful professional athlete, Hall-of-Fame basketball player James Worthy! She specializes in relationship counseling and has also served as a counselor to at-risk, inner-city youth at A Place Called Home, a non-profit organization in South Central Los Angeles. She writes a column for the Santa Monica Star and hosts a weekly radio segment on KTYM AM 1460.

A veteran interview subject, Wilder has appeared on national television programs, including Oprah, 20/20, Inside Edition, CNN features (Greta Van Susteren, Wolf Blitzer, and Paula Zahn), the Jesse Ventura Show, Countdown, the John Walsh Show, and 48 Hours.
