Venture Literary Sells Pittsburgh Steelers Book to Triumph Books

On September 21, 2004, Greg Dinkin of Venture Literary sold the World rights to Bill Chastain’s Steel Dynasty: The Team That Changed the NFL to Tom Bast at Triumph Books.

There has never been a more remarkable dynasty in football than the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1975 to 1980, a six-year span in which the team won four Super Bowls and captured the hearts and minds of football fans all across America. Sam Rutigliano, the former Cleveland Browns head coach who suffered many beatings at the hands of the Steelers, said, "They may go down in football history as the best team ever."

In Steel Dynasty: The Team That Changed the NFL, veteran sports journalist Bill Chastain crafts the dramatic story of the Pittsburgh Steelers dynasty of the 1970s by combining extensive research with the many interviews of those who were a part of this amazing franchise. After a look at where the Steelers had been throughout most of their early, futile history, Steel Dynasty takes the reader from the beginning of the dynasty through its final days, when the seventies gave way to the eighties and the Steelers brand of football changed. The book explores the team’s incredible run from a fresh and unique perspective, while at the same time chronicling the legacy this team left behind.

Bill Chastain is the author of Payne at Pinehurst: The Greatest U.S. Open Ever, The Steve Spurrier Story: From Heisman to Head Ball Coach, and The Streak. He is a former columnist for the Tampa Tribune and a former reporter for the St. Petersburg Times.
